Thunbergia grandiflora
(Blue Sky vine)
Extremely rare tropical vine from Africa and India. One of the best tropical
vines for the greenhouse or conservatory. This rambling vine is covered
in wonderful blue flowers 3" across with yellow centers through summer and
fall and fewer blooms thereafter if given right conditions. Easily gown
in containers.
Hardy in zone 10.
Recommended care:
Full sun to part shade in fertile well drained soil. If given enough light,
fertilizer and water will bloom year round. Blooms on new wood. Prune in
early spring to keep at a manageable size, never prune down to base keep at
least a few nodes. As this vine is a constant bloomer feed at least every
two weeks during your growing season.
