Rare. This is a deciduous, fast growing tendril-climbing perennial vine reaching
up to 2o'. It has beautiful, fragrant and intricate purple and white flowers
that are 3" across. The Passion fruit is the size of a small hen's egg and
is sweet and aromatic and has green-purple skin. Attracts butterflies.
Hardy in zones 6-9.
Recommended
care:
Full sun. Light, evenly moist soil, mulch well in fall. Herbaceous, dies
back to ground in winter and quickly grows in spring. Water deeply, but infrequently,
Passion flowers should be encouraged to reach deep into the earth for water.
