Antigonon leptopus (Queen's Wreath, Coral Vine) Fast growing tendril climber with bright green heart shaped leaves and tuberous roots. Blooms from summer to autumn with coral pink to red flowers in 6" or more panicles. If planted outdoors can get to 25' to 40'. Size easily controlled in pots. Flowers attract butterflies. Hardy in zone 8 or 8b. Plant in a very sheltered location and mulch or lift tubers in fall. Foliage dies back with frost. If temps get too cold I highly recommend digging out tubers and storing inside. Recommended care: Will grow in almost any soil, is drought tolerant once established, tolerates pollution, restricted space, and inadequate sunshine. For prolific blooming needs full sun. Flowers on new wood. Grows well in containers.
